Garden Club
Green Gate Farms and several Village Farm residents established the Garden Club in March 2021. The Club assumed stewardship of the growing areas in and around our tiny home community. Residents have volunteered countless hours to install and maintain beautiful and productive areas around their homes, in common areas, the orchard, and in raised garden beds. Many of our Garden Club members are accomplished growers who generously share their skills (and seeds) with beginners. Despite numerous obstacles, these leaders have persisted in their mission to add beauty and sustainability to their community. Meeting topics can include:
- Bergstrom Farmhouse landscape planning design and budgeting
- Community Raised Beds planting, care and harvesting,
- Container gardening
- Home landscaping advocacy and home tours
- Mushroom Growing
- Planting and pruning fruit trees
- Planting trees around the community
The Garden Club comes together monthly to discuss and learn, tour and plan. Anyone is welcome to join in. No experience necessary. Monthly meetings, which often feature guest speakers, are open to all and held on the farm on second Wednesdays, 5:30-7:00 PM.
