Mushroom Blocks for You and Your Garden

Thanks to VF resident Dr. Matt, you can pick up culinary mushroom blocks that you can sprout for food or use as a soil amendment. You can pick up blocks from the metal shed in front of the farm.

He wrote:

"If you’ve never harvested mushrooms from these blocks, I want to encourage you to try. It’s such a gift. These things go for $25 plus at groceries. You just gently remove the mushrooms and wipe them off and then they can be sautéed into a pasta sauce or make a soup or wherever you like to do with mushrooms. I can’t recommend this highly enough as a perk of living here that I never got to do in my old hood. They’re free for the taking in case you didn’t know!"
